Overview

What is IFQ?

IFQ (Islamic Finance Qualification) is the first globally recognised benchmark qualification in Islamic Finance. It covers the key principles of Islamic finance and how they are applied in business, to equip the candidate with the understanding of Islamic financial products in banking, Sukuk (Islamic bonds) and Takaful (Islamic insurance). More specifically the course covers the following elements:

• The Basis of Islamic Banking and Finance
• An Introduction to Islamic Banking and Finance
• Islamic Law of Contracts
• Financial Techniques Applied by Islamic Banks
• Islamic Asset and Fund Management
• Sukuk Market
• Islamic Insurance – Takaful
• Financial Statements for Islamic Banks
• Islamic Corporate Governance

Whether you are looking to improve your career prospects within the industry or improve your understanding of Shariah in your business, the IFQ will give you a solid base and sufficient practical knowledge to work competently and confidently when dealing with Islamic financial concepts.

Prerequisites:

There are no prerequisites for registration onto the IFQ.

Exam

Following the training, candidates can undertake the IFQ exam, which is computer-based and includes 100 multiple choice questions. The exam can also be done in Arabic.

The exam is available to book all year around so you can book at your convenience and there are several test centres so you can find the nearest to sit the test.
