1. Brief Description of the Programme
This internship programme has been designed to train new raw talent into professional full-time employees of IFAAS.
Objectives of the Internship
The objective is to spread the knowledge of Islamic finance and improve the human capital within the industry.
Duration and Timeline of the Programme
The programme lasts 6 months in total; stages 1 and 2 are 1 month each, while stage 3 is 4 months.
2. Roles and Responsibilities
Description of the Roles Available
You will be rotated within the core teams of IFAAS, including Shariah Audit, Policy Advisory, and Business Development, to identify your strengths and interests.
Key Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Tasks Interns Might Expect
Stages 1 and 2 will involve studying our Islamic finance course as per the determined schedule and helping with any tasks requested from the core teams of IFAAS. At the end of stage 2, every intern must pass the internal IFAAS exam to progress to stage 3 and are offered to undertake the IFQ exam too, although it is not required. In stage 3, they will join the core teams to work closely on real projects.
3. Eligibility and Requirements
Necessary Qualifications and Skills Needed to Apply
Interns must be in the final year of their university study or have already graduated with at least a Bachelor, and they must speak English to a professional competency.
Specific Educational Background or Field of Study Required
We do not require a specific field of study, but we do require a university degree and a desire to learn Islamic finance and propel the industry forward.
Desired Skills
While not necessary, we are looking for interns who speak French, Arabic, Russian, or Turkish, since a lot of our work is with international clients.

6 months, and there is no flexibility since it is batches of multiple interns starting at the same time.
Is this internship paid? Are there other benefits offered?
Stages 1 and 2 are unpaid while stage 3 offers 300 USD per month. We also offer reimbursing the IFQ exam, subject to terms and conditions.
What will my day-to-day responsibilities look like?
Studying as per the plan from your manager, and helping with any tasks requested from colleagues.
Can I apply to more than one position or department?
No, this internship will rotate between all areas of the firm to offer a range of experiences as well as help find your forte.
What is the selection process for the internship programme?
We receive applications for a batch that we’ve announced on the website and LinkedIn, and we shortlist potential candidates to interview before deciding on a set of interns to offer and onboard.
